Welder question

I have a Berlan 140 mig welder, The mains cable is about a metre long and quite heavy. The question is can I extend this to 2 metres.

I've extended several cables over the years but check you can easily get to the connections inside the tool/equipment first and you use correct cable

Or use an inline 16A plug and socket to add extra cable length

At 140amp I presume it has 13amp plug on it? Ive had no issue using my welder through an extension cable. Infact in my last house the whole garage was fed from a 50m extension cable i made up from 2.5mm artic which welded perfectly well. I was using a Esab Caddy 160i
