If I had a hammer....
I have some dressing to do on the edge of my bonnet, and the welds to dress and polish on my wheel arches.
Also weld and clean up where the back panel meets the side panels. All to please a nice man in Norwich.
So if I need a hammer, where do I get one?
The well respected companies charge an arm and a leg, and could possibly be importing them anyway.
The traditional makes, those with Sheffield stamped on them, are hard to find but often turn up on eBay.
Trouble is the photo always shows a side view, never the important bit, i.e. the face. I always assume
that if the face isn't shown then it's been used to whack dot punches and the like.
The cheap ones, £20 ish, have a face polished with a belt sander, and seldom state how flat or curved they are.
So in true Locost tradition..... I've made one.
The business ends are cut & turned from railway line, manganese steel so should work harden to martinsite.
The rest is from tube to keep the weight down and the balance right.
I'll test it when the crappy paint job is dry. (I'll hammer in the morning)
Cheers,
Paul G

So, what price is an arm and a leg then for a new one of those? If you want a goodun then youve gotta pay. Simples!!!! By the way, what is wrong with
buying a goodun of the bay and then dressing and polishing the head? Mind you, I do like yours. Well done.

I bid £44.50 (p&p £5.50) on the bay today, and was out bid.
I've been waiting for a delivery today, that should have been here yesterday,
so I knocked this up while I was waiting. (Delivery turned up at 3.30)

Doesn't that tend to annoy the train companies?

Actually I'm into "Peggy Sue" or "On a Sunday morning sidewalk" if you get my drift.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my garage floor paint. Decided that standing it upright wasnt the best idea, besides the car tended to fall over as
well!!!!
