yeah your right but they've been used many times in the past for this and the chrome has all but gone at the grips, but it's a good point

Could well end up that way if you intend just using wet paint/2-pack..





I've over 28 years in dealing with magnesium wheels. Refurbishment and can powder coat most metal parts. Visit my web site if you wish..

You should not use 'chromemoly' vise grips as a contact. The chrome, like stainless steel give off a poisonous gas!!

If the rust is no more I presume the area where it was is slightly pitted now?
I have used some stuff from Safety-kleen where you soak any thing made of steel and it turns the rust into solid matter!!!
