Lambda Positioning
I'm putting a lambda boss into the exhaust to allow me to run a sensor to help with carb tuning.
My plan is to weld the boss into the top of the short length of tube between the secondaries and the silencer. Will this be ok? Is it going to get
hot enough?

Thats about the only place it can go, Otherwise it wont be monitoring all 4 cylinders....

I used that position in mine with no problem.
In the past I could tune my carb better than ever and today I can auto tune the injection. One of the best tools for our cars.

You are correct. It's just that if there is a reason that it wouldn't work in that position then I wouldn't bother.

Mount it in the side or top, don't mount it underneath, you need to keep it away from moisture (iirc)

You could mount it further up on a single branch, but that does leave you with the assumption that all else is well. That's what Caterham
do/did, but it won't pick up issues with any of the other cylinders.
Having said that, my V6 will probably only have one sensor and as such will only measure one bank.
