VAT on welding gas?
I've just picked up a refill on my welding gas, and I was charged £30 plus 5% VAT (£1.50). Is that right, is gas charged at a reduced VAT
rate?
The closest I can find is 'Gas for domestic and residential use or for non-business use by a charity', but it's listed under power
so I'm guessing they mean gas for cooking and heating?

Depends what you mean by welding gas, do you mean co2 for Mig Welding, as that wouldnt be listed as gas in tax bands.
