I have ciut my air box from a zx9 and turnmed it, whats the best way to stick it back together?

I cut the top off mine and made a lid that was sikaflexed and riveted on with angle brackets.

How would it restrict the air into the engine if the top of the filter housing was on the back edge of the trumpet

There is a fair bit of clearance between the trumpets and the ally plate, a lot more than the required 1/3rd of inlet diameter.
Hits the rev limiter in every gear without a problem, with a 3.62 diff It was Dyno'd at 135bhp, about right for a "C".
