Tool Chest Draw Organiser - Foam?
I just purchased a tool chest and wanted to know how people have organised there tool, custom foam etc. I want to organise my screwdrivers, sockets
and spanners first up. Are there foam blanks you can buy or cheap DIY solutions?

I use the Halfords foam lying down mats, the have an orange outer layer and a grey inner so look nice when you cut shapes into them and they are a
sturdy foam. They are quite cheap if you have a trade card as well.

Cutting foam can be a pita
If you see a mac tools or snap on van pull over and go aboard
They do self adhesive rails for spanners so you can tailor them to your spanners length
Same goes for sockets,they do rails that you can clip them to
Not much more expensive than the sealey/halfords/laser stuff but made to last

Ive just for the grip mat on mine, makes it flexible for when new/replacement tools come along.

We got some tool foams cut at work the other day for some peli cases and it wasnt as expensive as I thought as long as you can send them a DWG of what
you are after.

Halfords socket rails, and then riveted in in certain places, so they aren't going to roll about.
Other drawers, I just use the grip mat (for spanners, for instance).
My drawer of Jeremey's are just shoved in.

Close cell foam in mine, really needs a scapel to cut and does take forever to do.
sound proofing &' heat insulation sheet closed cell foam size 1mx48cm x 12mm

There's a bloke called Stuart who signs on as Highlander on the scottish mud forum who makes them he has software which uses layout oif real
tools to generate the tool path for cutting out shapes

I'm always changing/adding to tool collection so I use magnetic alligator teeth for spanners and clip in trays for sockets, one drawer for each
drive size.
