Cheap TIG

worth a squirt?
TIG INVERTER WITH HF START 200 AMP TIGMIG TIG TM200HF WELDING MACHINE IGBT WIG

Been offered one for less than a average amp used MIG?

Just want it for mild and stainless, don't have enough cash/experience for an AC for ally yet.

Can't comment on that particular model. I bought a £120 200Amp Tig/stick welder years ago as a punt. I used it to build my whole car - Tig'd the chassis, wishbones, various bits etc and stick welded all the heavier uprights etc with it without a problem and just using it now to weld up a sump for my Duratec.

tinterweb search seems to point to them being ok, typical Chinese imports with some mixed reviews though.
For the money i'm tempted to try it and flog on if not as I hoped. Cant be much worse than my aging 90amp Clarke mig.

IGBT is the one to go for so should be okay assuming they are sized correctly.

Last year I bought one of the yellow china tic machines branded "giant" it works great! Used it to weld up the waste gate hole in my turbo, make a turbo manifold for my zx9 and all other stainless exhaust components. Will sell it someday when I won't need it for a while. Still worthwhile buying a good quality machine if you are going to keep it for years
