Steering column advice

Evening all,

I've just replaced the boss on my sierra column for a new one as the other had a stripped bolt hole and I was also missing the cancelling cam from the top of the column which meant I had some play.

After mounting the cam and boss I only had maybe 2 threads to get the nut started. After tightening the nut all the way I have 3 threads exposed after the nylock. Is this correct or should there be more?

Can anyone shed some light.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

I thought it would be ok but as I'm used to seeing a lot more I thought I'd better check.

I'd imagine 3 is fine, can I also take the opportunity to say i think your car looks fantastic, do you have a build thread or some more photos I could gaze at? I have to ask where did you get the scuttle?

Do the right thing, right, first time!

If only it was that simple!

Thanks, To be honest I bought the car built but with problems.

It's changed so much since the photo in my avatar. It's now white and black has had numerous upgrades from clutch, cooling, exhaust, dash, belts, mirrors, bike carb conversion and loads more. I have all photos on my phone. It's such a nightmare to upload pics to this site from an iPhone I don't bother.

The list never ends. You always find another mod to do or an update to something you've seen.

I've only just finished the carb conversion today so the next step is some track testing and maybe some hill climb events this year.

This is an old pic before the carb update
