diy hydraulic power pack

Anybody make one? I want to use with engine hoist and press but they seem expensive on eBay.

Cheers

Are you talking about a simple manual pumped ram or an actual power pack?

Hi,

No I want to make an electrically powered hydraulic pump to use with my press and engine crane.

My first thought was to use a power steering pump but they only give around 1200psi and rough calcs show that my existing manually pumped cylinders are circa 4000psi

Also I can't find any indo on pump rate gal/min or l/s of power steering pumps either so wondered if another forum member had tried.

Cheers!
