Removing stick on mirror
Bought a stick on interior mirror from CBS ( #MINT 3 ). This fell off immediately I got back from IVA ( found it in the footwell ). Was not really
surprised as the sticky pad did not seem that great - and I did the full screen clean process with acetone before applying. So I went to my local DIY
shop and bought a Loctite stick on mirror glue kit. I had used these before and knew they worked well. The glue is hardened by UV I believe. The
mirror is now well and truly attached, problem is it is cr@p! It is so flexible the merest touch of a finger will set it wobbling and even the
smoothest roads have the thing dancing so much the image is a constant blur. So how do I get it off? I don't mind killing the mirror but I
don't want to damage my screen. Will heat application help or is there a magic solvent for this glue? Advice appreciated before I set to work.

I had vibrating image syndrome.
I now have mk2 MX5 mirror fixed with Loctite.
Now usable as a tow point.

The adhesive is a methacrylate similar to threadlock, it will soften slightly with acetone but will not dissolve, benzyl alcohol may work if it will
soak under the mirror foot.
Heat will soften the adhesive more, but you'll need 80°c ish to remove the mount. If you try this, don't pull on the fitting as it will
crack the screen, twisting it parallel with the screen will minimise the chance of damage.
Have you got any old guitar strings? A .010" string can be used like a cheesewire to cut through the adhesive, floss or fishing line may suffice
but will probably break a few times.
