bench vice
I've looked high and low, don't really fancy a cheap chinese thing, anyone suggest good places for second hand tools such as a record no.4
or no.5 type vice?
Have checked ebay and missed one last night, but they don't seem to be lots on there and very often due to the weight people don't want to
post them, suprise, suprise!
Ned.
beware, I've got yellow skin

I've often seen decent Record vices at car boot sales - might be worth a visit...

Why such a big vice for a locost. I have a record no.1 (amoungst other vices) which is a very hand size, jaws open to 3.25ich capacity.
New record vices (quality probably not as good as old record vices?) from machine mart start at £20

I started my RH build over 3 yrs ago. At the time I bought a 2nd-hand vice, a Record No 5, c/w original Record clamps (the nice steel/fibre ones)
I've given it some stick during my (as yet unfinished) build, including wheel stud changes etc. I found it at £20 in the local paper
miscellaneous ads - worth a look in that direction.

got a decent heavy duty record vice of ebay for £20ish ... they even posted it for £12 not bad considering the cost of a new one ! (>£500) I find
the quick release ones are really usefull too
