Removing sierra final trans oil seals
Hello All,
I am just trying to clean up the final drive (rear hubs) and am trying to remove the 2 oil seals (drive shaft ones) in the final drive.
The seals are quite tight, whats the best way to get them out ???

Seal removal tool from machine mart, Sealey, Draper.
Costs about £3-5. It looks like a thin Axehead on a stick, but the shape is like two eagle beaks back to back.
It makes ALL seal removals a doddle... Wish I had got one years ago.
CHT267 Seal Puller Tool
Dont use it much.. but at the price... its a handy tool and easy to use. just hook them and lever them out.
You CANT use the seal again!...
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Best Regards
Geoff

Claw hammer.
Pat...
No trees were killed in the sending of this message.
However a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Self tapper
Then claw hammer.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

It aint budgin
Well tryed 'lever out with screwdriver' as in the Haynes manual, yea right, like to see mr haynes writer come and get these b*****ds
out.
Also tryed claw hammer, that aint budging them either, don't want to hit it too hard as the other bit of the hammer is sitting on the edge of
the bearing housing.
Yet to try to 'tool' from m/c mart, but I would be amazed if this works better than a claw hammer.
Any more suggestions ??
Out of interest if I removed the removed the locking tab on the castellated bit will the bearing housing come out (I could then drive them ou from the
inside). However I dont want 300 ball bearings and several springs pinging out all over the place !!
