Try packing it out with silver sand (will stop it flattening) and should help stop it cracking a little bit...never done it tho so not sure.....Oli.

My experience with bending ready chromed pipe is that the chrome will crack on the bends. Rather spoils the effect, especialy as the rest will come of
as well, at a later date. At least that is what I have found, better by far to bend up unchromed pipe, and then have it chromed.

Wott about using stainless steel instead then polishing it and lacquer to keep the shine?? Wouldn't rust internally either....just an
idea....Oli.

The chrome will deffo crack - use stainless if you want to resist corrosion. Forget the laquer it'll do nothing except go yellow. That's
why it's called stainless

chrome pipe
Thanks for replies is it the case that the chrome will crack but not the metal tube if I bend the chrome pipe I am a little worried that the metal
pipe itself will need replacing, not worried about the chrome cracking buy very worried about the metal pipe cracking because of the oil pressure!!

You should certainly be able to bend the pipe without it cracking. Only one way to find out though.....(I wouldn't worry too much about oil
pressure, if the pipe is gonna crack it'll do it with no oil pressure or 4 bar it won't make alot of difference - I wouldn't have
thought!) Oli.
