Polishers

What do you recommend for polishing up fresh gelcoat?

Was looking at something like this

looks a good buy iwas gona buy one from machine mart clarke cp 180 £70.00

glad you spotted that cheers

just looked at your archive have you now removed buck from bonnet
if so what is your plan with bottum edges

Yes - buck is removed from bonnet (Was always just laid onton)

For "plan with edges", not sure quite what you mean?

To smooth them off when making the mould - parcel tape

When attaching back to the bonnet
going to attach to bonnet using resin and Matting then fill with flowcoat and shape using a (filletting) tool similar to those sold by CFS (looks like a ball bearing on a stick)

ok you seem to have it sorted

i was just thinking from my minimal experience

make your mould on the bonnet with buck in place on parcel tape and use plaster scene on to fill the lower edges

might save you a bit of time

May yet end up doing something similar...anyone found any polishers cheaper?

Arrived yesterday - seems OK; is in it's own case for storage, too
