I rented one from BOC a few years ago when I was welding my Fiat X19
Compared to the pathetic disposable bottles you use with a mig it was far cheaper in the long run although I had to buy a regulator along with the
cylinder rental but even then it wasnt that expensive, less than £100 altogether if I remember correctly.
As you can imagine welding a 20 year old Fiat X19 would require a LOT of disposable bottles

If you go to a calor gas depot they will sell you a 5 Kg bottle of CO2 for £16. I have already covered this in a previous thread

You get much nicer welds though with Argon/CO2 mix. And if you go that route you will have to hire from BOC, or similar, pain but there you go.

While some Calor dealers are selling CO2 this way -- Not sure this 100% ---- certainly dosen't appear to be a "Calor" product --
do a Google for "Calor Co2" no mention of CO2 cylinders.

if its CO2 you want then the local pub is the place too go, but as stated Argon/CO2 mix gives a much better weld and I find is much easier too weld
with too.

Thanks lads i popped into the local BOC place and found they were doing a great pro-mo deal, full bottle for a £1 and 3 months free rental, the
rental when it starts in april is only £45 per year so im happy with that
