Flickering lights

Help any suggestionsto over come the following;

When I am welding SWMBO complains that the lights etc in the house flicker even when I am using it on the minimum setting as it is only a 150 amp Snap On I don't think it should be drawing any significant spikes.

normal

All my neighbours moan when I'm welding, 'it's like a disco in here, bla bla'

To simulate this effect try turning the kettle on & off really quickly...

It's Christmas. Shouldn't be a problem this time of year.

My SIP 150 causes the same flickering even though the garage is on a separate feed. I just try and do any welding during daylight hours

I had womdered if a screening transformer would be beneficial but then the welder has a fairly substantial transformer in it anyway

its an annoying problem that one. My table saw causes the lights to flicker and its only 2kw! Basically a voltage drop as the motor/transformer coils fill up.

You think you've got probs

You ought to see my spot welder... 6000 amps for 0.2sec

That makes street lights dim; or it would if we had any.
