Cheap angle grinders.
Anyone know anywhere selling cheap angle grinders at the minute? The small ones. My last one passed away last night, not peacefully.

I got my black and Decker grinder from Machine mart £15 with a packet of disk worth £8 so well worth it. of screw fix must be worth a look

Just back. Bought a mac allister one in the end. £24.99. Not what I would usually go for but it comes with a 3 year warranty from B and Q like for
like swap.
I have never had a grinder last 1 year never mind 3!
See how it goes.

£16 from Tesco I think, 600W including 3 disks.
It's cheap but it's functional.

errrr, maybe buy a good one then!! 
Why keep buying utter crap when you could buy one decent one.
My last one did 10 years, of workshop type work, used hard most days, and it died last year needing new brushes. I decided it was time for a new one,
though brushes would have revived it.
I hate cheap tools with a vengeance, get decent kit and it won't let you down.
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion

I have a pair of old Black & Decker professional ones that just keep on going I also have a through put of cheapies which do for a year or so
though the second last one tried to casrate me when the side handle broke!
I just bought a new cheapie at Macro for £7.50 no disks

I always buy the best tools I can afford. Except for small angle grinders. Ive had a couple of dear ones and a couple of moderate ones and Ive killed
them too.
They just dont sem to last with me so I'm scared buy dear ones incase they die, cos they always seem too.

I have a 125mm Stayer grinder that was eating brushes like there was no tomorrow. It wasn't a cheap grinder and it had an extended handle on the
rear so I was loathe to scrap it as it is great to use. I stripped it and turned the armature in my hands holding some 1200 wet and dry on it then
fitted a new set of brushes. Now after it's been stood in the shed for a long time I spin the blade with my hand before starting it and the
present brushes have lasted 4 years so far.

I bought a real cheap 4.5" grinder from screwfix 9 yrs ago £6.99 IIRC i thought if it lasts a year it will do, still going strong and came with
spare brushes too.

Funnily enough my old sturdy that died last year was a black and decker pro one, what ever happened to them, did they get rebadged as dewalt later on
or something??
I haven't seen the proper pro black and decker stuff around for at least 10 years.

I'm still using a cheap Chinese one that I bought 10 years ago for £12, after some pikey robbed my Makita off a site. It has been absolutely
beasted for all sorts; steel cutting/grinding, cutting grooves in concrete, plus the ubiquitous wire brush and it's still going strong (will
probably pack up now though), even used it as a chock to stop the van rolling down hill when the h/brake went. Money well spent. 
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

And therein lies the difference, whilst a £8 grinder might last a year and an £80 one might last ten years, you have less to be robbed of
inbetween.
I wish i'd've thought about that before i bought dewalt everything for work! I am now one paranoid light sleeper.
