Drift?
This is i know a stupid question but i just wanted to check and thats what you lot are great for!!
I am adjusting the front shocks and have been told to knock the lower spring holder around with a drift untill i have about 4.5 - 5inches ground
clearance.
What should the drift be made from? I am assuming it should be something soft to stop any damage being down.
Thanks for the help

I wouldn't use a drift might damage the adjuster
Jack the car up and use one of those oil filter removal tools put some cloth between it an the adjuster nut and u don't damage it
somthing like this

cant you use a c spanner on the adjuster? Does it not have slots in it?

Surely a C spanner will do the trick?

On my Nitrons, a couple of drill bits in the adjuster holes and a twist allows adjustment

A drift works just fine just use a nice soft bit of aluminium alloy or brass or copper bar stock.

Stilsons work
They go big enough to grip the nut.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

reason tiger said drift it was that they prob assumed if you were asking then you didn't have a c spanner!

IIRC they suggest a different approach to gaining more ride hight as winding up the spring seats does have a negative effect in making the ride very
hard and twitchy. I think you will find it quite hard to get the level of clearance you are after by just winding up the platforms.
