Calvinx group buy welder has broken? How and where to fix?
My "greenbird" chinese ac/dc TIG welder that i bought in CalvinXs group buy last year has broken.
The foot pedal input has stopped working.
It just goes to max set power when i set press the pedal. I've had the pedal apart and checked it out. There is just a micro switch and a 10k
pot in there and they both check out fine so the prob must be in the welder.
Does anyone know a welder repairer local to Ipswich?
Alternatively does anyone know how to contact calvinx these days? He might be able to tell me where i can get spares from as he got them direct.
I know the unit is the same as the Butters ones so i'm hoping i can get it repaired.
Its a real pain not having the foot pedal as i have a load of ally work to do
Any help appreciated.

I presume you've checked functioning at the plug end of the lead too. From what I remember they are pretty flimsy pins in the plug...

Yes, checked from the lead ends.
Will open the welder up tomorrow and see if i can see anything burn't out.

Yes he is a good guy but he wont take anything to do with Chinese stuff. Is this actually the first one to go wrong? Ihave the CUT model and it still
goes ok. Check inside . I already had a connection came loose in mine. I may have the contact for Greenbird Sales Rep who I think did the deal but
Idon`t think she would be able to do much on servicing.
They may send you a board right enough.
