So Many New Toys
Everyone seems to have acquired a new toy on the forum just lately,
so not to be outdone I've assembled Polishing wheel Mk 2
Nothing wrong with Mk1. Just a bit "girlie".
Mk 2 is a bit more "butch". Sort of, a tad "V8".
Just needs a guard over the belt, and a start/stop box to replace the plug & extension socket.
I've just got to remember not to press too hard or I'll disappear under the bench.

Hi Paul,
Just noticed your new polishing wheel post!
I don't suppose you'd like to sell your "Mk1" would you?

Hi Steve,
If all goes well with Mk 2 then you have first dibs.
The motor I've used on Mk 2 is from a 7.5cf compressor. It only just fits in the box.
The wheels are 10" and the shaft is 30mm. Geared down 2 to 1.
I have a teeny weeny doubt in my mind that the fan belt might not stand the test of time.
I'd better jot down the number. Do you think Halfords do discounts on bulk buys?

Go for it!
Just one snippet of info..
If the rag wheel spins to fast it melts and burns the polishing soap onto the ally.
Mk 1 motor does 1500 rpm.
Bench grinders are too fast and lack torque.
