Just got back and I have to say that I am somewhat underwhelmed with the show this year! 85 miles each way and I am not sure that I would bother next
year!
What did others make of it?
Harvey
Totally agree . Though john at vindicator cars was as enthusiastic as ever
Dont say that i was looking forward to going down in the morning
Rick
Just had a phone call from a guy off here, he said it was a waste of a tenner.
I think I will just go for a rideout and a spot of country pub grub tomorrow.
Steve.
If you are local to Donington and can use your kit car to get in free by all means go but the drive down from Hull was really not worth it.
The exhibitors tried to put on a show but the big gaps in the hall spoke volumes.
I did have a very nice cottage pie in the Cafe though.
All in all not worth the tenner if you have to pay.
Kipper.

I was pondering whether or not my fam,ily unit would make the effort to get up and go to Donny tomorrow, but I'll save myself the early start and
go somewhere else.
Harewood Hillclimb is on tomorrow, so might go there instead
My car broke this morning so i couldn't go!!! managed to fix it in 5 1/2 hours, proved to be a fuel pump problem, seems to be sorted now.
I'm still going tomorrow, just for an excuse to go out for a day and have a mooch.
From what i read on here this previous week, most seem to be going tomorrow, please try NOT to put people off!!!
Cheers
I couldn't even buy bolts! I did however manage to get a bit of high density rubber that I needed. Woo!
MNR Demo looked NICE though!
MNR demo looked very nice. Pity the bonnet wasn't off so I could have a gander and that there weren't any more than the one car but still, very nice. All in I don't think the show was too bad,not quite a tenners worth but hey. It was nice weather and there were some nice cars to look at and get ideas from. My brother found it funny as I kept recognising just bits of peoples cars like the pedals, dashes or rollbars
glad i'm not alone, biggest dissappointment was no genral locost club stand, BEC, MK and luego all there.
no large marquee at end of the hall with bits and bobs, premier wiring not there.
Nice to see steve and Aries with the ex staurt taylor locost setup.
Shame you couldn't see the track either, some of the bits going under the Dunlop bridge were FAST!
The spitfire dispplay for the See Red meet was good though, GREEEAAAT engine sound!
you do get a free Burton Power catalogue though!

I was not impressed. £17 for me and the nipper. Fee wise I felt totally ripped off to get in, if I was going in to look around for the first time it
wouldn't give me a good impression of the kit car scene. Anyone I spoke to talked about it being a rip off entrance fee. If it was a fiver then I
wouldn't grumble, even if they just said it was say 3 quid for the nipper I wouldn't have mined but 7 quid was extracting the urine.
The clubs were in what seemed to be a car park. Westfield had a car occasionally going around a track, much like the Caterham at Stoneleigh but to a
much lesser extent.
The Marquee that has the smaller stalls on was probably a dozen stalls at best. The highlights being cheapish seats and the bloke selling BB guns.
In the main area the highlight was the Robin Hood Zero. Looks quite a nice kit compared to previous stuff. If it had been around at the time I bought
my Indy I may have been persuaded to get that instead.
Carbuilder solutions were having a vat free sale, which made there stuff about the same price as everyone else, but with really helpful
advice/service.
In the end I bought some seats and runners because at least the savings on price & not paying for postage made up for entrance + petrol costs.
On the whole it was sort of like Newark but quieter with less stalls.
iam still off been looking foward to it for to long + the mrs has made the packups good exquse to give the car a good spanking on the way down
Where the feck did that t shirt come from in your avatar. I *really* want one
I went to buy bits to make side screens but was very disappointed with the few stands selling bits. Even the burger van wasn't great. I
wouldn't bother if I had to pay to get in / travel a long way / didn't want to buy anything postage free.
The highlight of the show for me was an owners Blackjack Avion painted in a nice shade of red. One of my all time favourite kit cars but it
doesn't say much for the show.
after a 3 hour drive not impressed. The old part of the circuit they were going to use was cancelled on thursday. The show was very poor, Then 3 hours home.

sorry to have upset people just hate the fact that event organisers rip of the enthusiast with out which they would have no bussiness. they call builders rip of con men about time we had event organisers from hell
