Fuel pump zx9

Hi just moved the fuel pump as it was incorrectly placed in the front. It however seem to not be working. Connected a wire direct from battery and it works. Is the only possible fault the relay?

Was it working ok at the front? Did you extend the existing cable? Connection wrong way round?

Not sure I presume so because the car was running. Just extended the wires to the back of the car. Just fixing things off previous owner

If it was running before, I think I would double check that the wiring is correct. I take it you have cut the connector from the cable and inserted a new piece in? Check continuity with a meter or 12volt bulb.

have you tried running the engine up ?
Unlike a car pump, the ZX9R pump works on fuel demand, and consequently does not run contiuously.
We had problems initially when we first fired up our engine. The intermittent operation of the pump led us to think it was the cause. Turns out it was the carbs and the pump was fine.
