Beginners Advice
Gremlin - 29/6/05 at 09:57 AM

Been along time since i have been on this site!

I started to build a R1 powered locost about 2.5 years ago and at the time had loads of good ideas and plans and spent adges on this site sorting things out but due to divorce all had to stop and be sold.

I am now looking to start a BEC again and would like some advice plz. I am looking to build a BE 7 style car and would like the build to be as straight forward as possible (due to limited space i can’t build chassis this time etc) and also reasonably priced.

Can anyone help with the best route to take, the best chassis and kit to go for, the best engine etc etc

Although started the car last time i didn’t get that far and really want to finish this one!

Start by looking at MNR, MK, GTS and LUEGO to name a few.

That should get your brain cooking.

Welcome to the madhouse!!

Look at MAC1, MNR & MK, all provide good products at a reasonable price.

You could do worse than get on the phone to each and visit them if you can and chat through your requirements.

MAC1 - http://www.mac1motorsports.co.uk
MNR - http://www.mnrltd.co.uk
MK - http://www.mksportscars.co.uk

Not to sound too biased Gremlin, but I've done a lot of research on this exact topic over the past 18 months and have found MNR to have an excellent approach to customer satisfaction.

This, for me, included a very high standard of build quality, fantastic customer facing, very competitively priced and backed up with a great deal of thorough engineering.

Again though there are a lot of LSIS companies about, but my personal experience with MNR has been faultless...

By the way I'm not on MNR's books...
