Has anyone got an SD1 V8 Ignition amplifier kicking around & for sale?

I seem to remember from my V8 MGB, the one I need is folded in an aluminium heat sink.

Cheers.

Pete.

These dumb modules are pretty interchangeable a Vauxhall Cavalier one will work provided it is bolted to some alloy to provide a heat sink.

Cheers BT, that's useful.

Can't remember where it is Steve, I think it connected to the distributor with a round plug, the unit itself is about 80mm square, and 10 mm or so thick.

Something like this:

I did some checking what is is inside the Lucas heat sink can is actually acomplete GM Module originally madefor them by Motorola
see this link see this link

The Vauxhall Opel part number for ignition amplifier module is 830931 or 1875990 however it was also used by Fiat, Renault and Peugeot.
The Lucas Part number was DAB125 but these are now made of unobtainium however pattern parts are still easily found other sources

RENAULT R5 1.4 Ignition Module VE520227 Cambiare Genuine Quality Replacement New

The distributor connector kit is easily availble from Rimmer Bros for under £5.

Ignore this post folks, BT & Coozer thanks for the responses.

This is my distributor, and reading further I'm best cutting the dizzy in two to drive the oil pump, and going megajolt...

I've checked and don't have one anyway.

I'm going to just take the insides out the dizzy and leave the cap on..
