Another compressor question. With more pics

OK Yesterday I posted a picture of my compressor and asked what people might think its worth. Well Ive had numerous messages asking me questions which I dont actually know how to answer.

Here is the identity tag on it.



1st quetsion Im being asked it its air flow rate in CFM? All I can tell is its a 110 litre tank

2nd question is what pressure does it hold at before auto cut out, and when does it kick in again?

Good question, I ran it up this morning and being a bit "nervous" of these things I stopped it before it stopped its self.




So if anyone can answer these questions that would be a great help. Also I have a list of "first dibs" etc so please dont think Im ignoring anyone. Just want to get all the facts first!

the plate pictured only gives info about the air receiver not about the performance or working pressure of the pump.if there is no other information on the compressor the size of the motor(hp) will give a vague idea of performance of the pump. hth. .m.

Yeah, i would expect to see a simluar (smaller?) plate on the compressor itself, and or the motor. Even the rating of the motor gives a fair indication as it will be atlease somewhat matched to the compressor.

A quick look on machine mart and 2hp runs a 10CFM pump.

biggest on a single phase is normally 3hp at 15 cfm.

Your's would still make a good home unit.

I bought a 15cfm airmark simular to your's in the 1980's and has done a lot of hard work, an still going strong.

I've also had 2 cheap <£100 direct drive ones for work, both died in less than a year

The cast iron pump one's seem to last well.

bare in mind that most compressor manufacturers quite displacement CFM not free air, free air is about 75% of displacement so if you have a 10CFM displacement then you get about 7.5CFM free air (free air is what you need to dive your tools)

The general rule of thumb that i use is 1HP equates to approximately 5CFM displacement or 3.75CFM free air
