if you hit reply, does it go to a yahoo address?
it goes to.........
https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_register-or-login&em=xxxxxxxxxxx@hotmail.com&txn_id=9AM37386GE6536826
so actually looks pretty genuine on the face of it. Just wants my username and password as it isnt pre-populating them into the link so makes me very
suspicious

sorry, i mean if you reply to the email
No, it tries to send to ppuk_cashback@paypal.com which is baffling me. Cant decide if its genuine but wont be risking it for £1
Forward fakes to spoof@paypal.com

Did you mean to report a fake (spoof) website?

Dear Paul Simon Tiger, Paypal UK Marketing bla bla bla..
an NOT like this:
"Dear PTiger@hotmail.com, PayPal UK Marketing just sent you 1.00 GBP with PayPal.
Even tho in crisis, why take the risk for 1,- GBP only?
Just go into paypal without using the link.
I.e type www.paypal.com and log in see if they have credited your account. if not can u find any info on it?
otherwise its fake

erm...
Well believe it or not the email is actually genuine. I hadnt confirmed my email address on that Paypal account (its a 2nd account set up for building someone else's car) so not on my more usual email. This was resulting in it not pre-populating the login details into the login page. Just confirmed my email address by logging into Paypal directly and requesting a confirmation email be sent. Now i verified it they are sending me £1 apparently!!
