Find the cable that comes in from the pole ans stick a master socket on that.
This is where you stick your adsl modem
It makes a difference of at least several meg.
Im in the two wire business and have just got round to doing my own wiring.....hate working on my own network

I thought that's always where the master socket is?

Biggest difference I made with mine was using a decent filter (one built into the front of the NTE5 face plate) rather than the cheap crappy thing that came with the router.
