Don't know first one.

To sort a list in word:
Select the whole list with the mouse so its highlighted.
Then click 'table' then option 'sort' and choose alphabetical/numeric etc as applicable

If you have excel you can copy and paste the list into a spreadsheet, then use the DATA menu, and click on SORT, then on Acending or decending depending on how you want to sort it.

have you changed the mouse. sometimes a mouse IC can send random signals as a malfunction and hence your pages go all over the place. Had this is the past myself.

I agree with Andy.

I normally scroll the page using the wheel on the top of the mouse.
Sometimes the wheel stops between clicks and the page jumps about as you describe.
If I wiggle the wheel (techy term) it cures the problem.
It's probably a piece of cheese or chocolate stuck in there.
I am a messy eater and mice do like cheese and chocky.

When I am rich I will buy a new mouse.
