Im after my first new laptop computer.

1. Havent got a clue which to buy?
2. Want to use it for mainly internet.
3. Needs to be good enough to play NFS.
4. Dont want it to go out of date in five mins.
5. Under £500.

Had Dell, had Toshiba. Both were good. Either one is going to be a good price for what you get.

4 and 5 are mutually exclusive In fact no matter how much you spend, the hardcore gamers will be smirking at you before you've even got it home....

That laptop wont play NFS very well at all.

For gaming on a laptop you want a laptop with an Nvidia 8600GT/ 9600GS minimum. with this graphics chip you will be able to play most games at a meduim graphics setting with average frame rates.

for laptops with one of these cards you are looking at prices starting around £600. It is the graphics card that really bumps the price of laptops up.

something like the Samsung R560

Ive just got a laptop with the following specs:

intel C2D T9600 ( 2.8ghz dual core)
4Gb DDR3 Ram
320Gb 7200RPM Hard drive
15" 1680x1050 screen
Nvidia 9800GT

it plays most of my games at full graphics settings with good frame rates, but it cost a little over £1400

Hmm laptop or shiney new digidash ....

I would look at dells and toshibas. Both are well made.

You should be able to get a decent spec one for £300 if you dont want to play games on it.

clicky

Alternatively look on the dell site, i might be able to get you a deal through work...

I have looked at pc world website and there are so many different makes. What the differences in the makes? There seem to be cheaper ones with extra's like wecams and duo 2 processers but i dont want to buy one that is not going to be very good.

What do you think of this one? LINKY
The first or second one from the left? They dont seem to have a webcam though.
