Reasonably priced movie editing software
donut - 24/2/09 at 05:02 PM

My son loves to make movies for youtube but has found Windows movie maker lacking and would like to use something a bit more sufisticated or something that has more options when it comes to overlaying effects etc.

What is there out there thats a good step up from Movie Maker? Budget £50 - £150ish.

Many thanks

Andy

install linix on a duel boot then install one of the many, many free peices of software.

Save your £100 for a decent bullet cam for your car

Funnily enough i'm just about to set up my old Dell PC to run Linux Mint. I didn't know there were any movie editing software packages out there for linux!

Nice one!

I downloaded the trial version of Sony Vegas Platinum recently to try out. I wanted something that could do a bit more than MovieMaker, and also handle HD footage from my camera.

So far I am quite impressed with it. The functionality seems excellent and it is quite easy to use. They have some really nice tutorials that guide you through a number of "how to" scenarios too.

I haven't decided if I'm going to fork out the £50 or so, but I expect I will do

Cheers
Andy

You could try Jahshaka.
