My Ma's laptop popped up "Google has detected A360 (or similar!) Virus. Click here to fix". So she did......
She hasn't installed any Google AV and was using an out of date Norton AV.
Now the 'puter won't let her connect to the tinterweb!
I've tried to reinstall her Talktalk wired router but it won't play. Talktalk have said that they can talk to the router so it must be a
probby with the 'puter. I know next to feck-all about such things and my Ma can only just remember what day it is so can anyone suggest a
solution please?
Perhaps something I can download on my puter to put on to disc and pop into her puter to make everything better!
System restore had no effect.
Help as my Ma has an addiction to EbaY.....
Cheers. Google threw up some good things to try as well.
I've saved the Malware gubbins to a disc so I'll run them through her lappy.
No problem. I had a 360 one the other day that blocked MalwareBytes from loading, so you might have to rename the .exe in order to be able to get it to run.
Eh? You lost me after "No problem".....
Ma is bringing the lappy round so I'll have a fiddle!
If you try and run MalwareBytes, the 360 spyware might prevent it from running (as it did at one of my customers the other day).
Step 1.
When you download MalwareBytes, rename the .exe to something random
Step 2.
Install MalwareBytes in the usual way
Step 4.
Right click on the shortcut that the installation placed on your desktop. Find the .exe file of where it is pointing to (e.g. "Crogram
FilesMalwarebytes' Anti-Malwarembam.exe"
Step 5.
Rename the .exe file that you have just identified to something random (e.g. from "mbam.exe" to 78wdhwqo8.exe"
Step 6.
Run the newly rename .exe
Hope this helps
A program called combofix will also sort this.
And most important get a fully up to date anti-virus programme. A seriously outdated one is almost no use at all.
Either update your current one (costs dollar) or get a free one like AVG.
Personally I prefer NOD32 to all others I have tried.
Cheers folks!
Ran the Combofix and then installed AVIRA and now everything is cushty!
Cheers again!
