COREdevelopments - 6/5/09 at 06:31 PM

Hi all.
I have a problem with my pc when on the net. it is fine when on one particular site but when i open up a link (any link) it will freeze and a box will come up saying internet explorer encountered a problem bla bla and then gives me an option of sending error report or not. after i click send or dont send it shuts off the web page! it happens all the time and pc is running slowwer! is there anything anyone can sugest apart from throwing the pile of crap out of the window! which will happen if i cant fix it. not sure what to do.
any thoughts?
thanks in advance

Rob

It's only a temporary fix, but can you get to google, search for "firefox," then download and install it?

I'm looking at a laptop with a similar problem at the moment, done the usual of running a full system scan with the Antivirus, might be worth trying that if nothing else jumps out as obvious.

Is it the same website each time that crashes it?

Remove any toolbars in add and remove within control panel. Also have a look for live messenger and uninstall if its not used.

Cheers

Beware Xp Service Pack 3 as it causes mega trouble on some brands of PC -- it is suposed to have been fixed but I am still encountering PC with problems caused by it.

Avira anti-virus

Also try removing any programs you don't use and defrag the drive.

A small memory upgrade can make all the difference too
