having problems with emails

the file C: documents and settingsuserlocal settingsapplication datamicrosoft outlookoutlookpst. could not be assesd.

this is the error message i keep getting, cant open, delete, junk emails, infact its goosed.

the .pst file is where all your emails are stored it should be in the location the computer tells you, its been moved or remamed or deleted

ive been away and have been deleting junk mails etc, was working fine yesterday, but this morning has been running slow and emails are just not opening at all.

where can i find such a file ?

have a read of this it tells you about repairing .pst files

You can search for your .pst files by searching for them using *.pst in the search field. you might need to show hidden files first or enable search for hidden files in the search screen.



or your pc may be goosed you might be seeing the first signs of hard drive failure.

Run a defrag followed by a scandisk to see if it finds/corrects any errors.

It is essentially a database that holds all your emails. It's either been moved or deleted or it's become corrupted so that outlook can no longer open it. Look in the above folder and check if it's present. If not, do a file search to see if it's been moved to some other location.

If it's present, but corrupted you may be able to repair it using a couple of Microsoft Utilities. Check the size of the PST file if it's there, if they get too large (over 2GB) that causes problems.

man took my pc away today, looks like hard drive has some bits mssing
