Projector advice
liam.mccaffrey - 21/11/09 at 02:36 PM

I'm think of getting a projector for the workshop pc (laptop with a broken screen so would need to buy a monitor anyway)

anyone like to recommend something at the cheaper end of the scale, wouldn't need to project very big.

Cheap flat screen TV would be much much better in many ways... and would probs work out cheaper in the long run!

How do people find time to watch TV when working in the garage?

I don't want to watch tv its for the computer

Thanks for the suggestions

I'd get one with an led lightsource if possible - they last 10x longer

As above, normal projector lamps are shockingly expensive!!

Ive just bought my third one now. if you just want it for pc - a cheap lcd one will do - if you want to watch tv/films on it then you should really go with a DLP one.

A projector is not really compatible with a workshop environment, they like cool, clean air.

An LCD monitor would be much cheaper and provide much greater resolution than a projector, and you don't need to provide a big bit of wall to project on.

As already mentioned, bulbs cost an absolute fortune, you can build a kit car for less than some (apparently)
