Any of you guys had this problem, cant connect to certain sites eg BBC.co.uk with either firefox, chrome or IE. Cleaned browser cache, disabled AVG,
run spybot & Ccleaner, rebooted router, torn whats left of my hair out, made love to the dog and kicked the wife ( or was that the other way
round).
Other PC's connected to the router are OK so it aint the router or B.Band connection. The pages in question take ages to try and load then come
up unable to connect or the connection was reset.
XP by the way, tinterweb searches havent come up with any useful answers.
Any one got a fix its driving me nuts.
Cheers,
Bob
Sounds like something fishy on your machine. Download and run Malwarebytes, I've found it to be a useful tool for getting rid of unwanted nasties.
Tried that cebera, no joy thanks anyroad.

Bob
DNS --- problem --- your ISP's domain name servers are corupted it should sort itself out within 12 hours.
Been like this for a few weeks trident.
Cheers,
Bob
Can you access BBC News front page by typing http://212.58.226.139/ in your address bar? If so, I believe it's a DNS issue.
If it works you could try manually adding your ISP DNS servers in the TCP/IP properties of your network connection.

ISP DNS would affect the other PC's too on his router too and the OP pointed out other PC's are fine - just the one causing the issue
Yeeeehaaaaw sorted, it was the MTU settings within the adaptor settings. Downloaded a program called Dr TCP and ran it and the setting should be 1500
or so, mine was nowt. My tinterweb has never been so quick.
Still dont know what any of the above means but I'm chuffed.
Cheers,
Bob
