My neice has forgotten the windows password on her laptop that she hasn't used for a while and now can't use it.
Does anyone know how to get around this without buying dodgy programs off the net.
xp vista etc etc

dead easy
safe mode (press f8 whilst booting)
log in as admin
control pannel
users remove the password from her account
restart

I have booted in safe mode but it still asks for a password
did you click on administrator

I'm pretty sure you're knickered if you haven't got the password on the main (admin) account. Only way I know of is to re-install windows.

That one does work although can be confusing right at the end! You need to do literally what it says.

sounds like you arnt booting into safe mode.
try doing it the easy way first
