ebay feedback 'private'
locoboy - 12/12/09 at 10:27 AM

How come when you look at peoples feedback on ebay and you try to see what item they bought it alows you to 'view item' and other times it is greyed out and says 'private'?

Just curious

When listing an item you are able to select to keep the bidders identities & feedback ratings private, once feedback is left or received after purchase, that item number is listed as private & does not indicate the item number for that reason.

You must be able to make it appear as private when leaving feedback as a buyer, a few of mine have come up like that & I've not had the settings for bidder's IDs any different.
I've got that one which reads as if I've performed some kind of "personal service" for the buyer which makes me look a bit dodgy but I sold him a Mini!

Its pretty easy to change the settings to do this via "site map" in the top right corner. You cant sell items on ebay if you have your settings like this though.

That's the thing about auction sites. it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Anyway, it only had 2 previous owners so was worth a bit more!
