Hi, looking to make up a website for my parents. Anyone know of a good free editor?
Only looking to make a simple page for renting a house, so pictures and text, maybee with a few simple "enhancements".
Thanks
Darren
notepad
assuming you mean actual html editor?
or are you wanting something that does all the work for you?

Yeah, thats a bit too advanced for me, i have edited pages before using notepad, but prefer a page creation program.
Thanks
Darren
visual studio express web edition. Link
you do not have to use it for aspx pages as you can create normal html pages with design editor etc.
I use it so i would be biased towards it anyway
Notepad for me
Then again my websites aren't exactly complicated flash-fests.
I use notepad++ for everything - it's brilliant for editing just about every kind of code, including HTML. It highlights the start and end of
blocks, highlights the block itself when you want to, and so on.
It's also free, which is a bonus!

I'm certainly no expert but did create a simple website for my company using Microsoft Publisher. (See www.indigo26.freeserve.co.uk). I think it may also be possible with Word.
Evrsoft First Page is quite nice.

I use source edit for perl scripts, it has HTML options.
Its much better than notepad even for text docs.
Some love it, some hate, somr say it costs (a lot of) money, but i use an old copy dreamweaver MX from about 2004 which does my very well.
- Nice WISYWIG editor, HTML editor, FTP client. Job done.

What I hate about some of these web page creators is the cr@p they put into the HTML code - there are often 50 lines of densely-packed page set-up
before the actual text appears in the listing.
I can't see how that could possibly be efficient...
I recommend WYSIWYG.
Trial is free and programme itself is only £32
Easy to use, brilliant.
Thanks, that WYSIWYG sounds good, i`ll look that up.
I`ll also try word, didn`t think of that.
Thanks

Free and plenty good enough. Dreamweaver myself but it's costly and not everyone's cup of tea!
Try Bluevoda its free and excellent the web link below is my site done with it.
Went for WYSIWYG, excellent piece of kit, first time i`ve downloaded a time evaluation piece of software and decided straight away to buy!, good mix
of features and simplicity.
Will give a link when i get it all up and running.
Thanks
