Hi guys, trying to stream music/video between windows media player on my main desktop onto another desktop, my lappy and 2 PS3s.

The main desktop contains all the music which ive fed into WMP and I've okayed total media sharing to all comers.

Testing on my lappy the desktop is visable, but when i browse into music there are 10 songs (mostly wmp demos) rather than the 10k I know are in wmp library on my desktop.

My ps3 wont find any media servers at all.

Any clues? I've tried google and it just claims its simple!

okay sorted the ps3 connect issue, I was networked on an ad-hoc basis to the router via BT-fusion rather than BT-businesshub - but can still only see these 10 rubbishy songs..

Don't know specifically what isn't working but make sure you have everything enabled. For ps3 go to settings>network settings>media server connection and set to enable.
You should see "search for media servers" under each media icon (i.e. photo/music/video).

If all that fails you can always connect by usb, if you want it organized then use folder names MUSIC, VIDEO, PHOTO in a usb drive or your c drive and then just press "x" on USB device under the relative media heading.

If you can't find what you're looking for use triangle and "display all".

As for the pcs, most of the time they automatically find wireless media servers but I think you also have to set up a lan style password or connection protocol before you can share, not sure though.

its the number of devices that makes me want to not use USB tom, i want everything accessible by everyone but without huge data duplication. I mean I think its 630hrs of music alone!

everything is visable and connectable so it doesnt appear to be a network issue, more like WMP on the main computer is hiding most of its library??

If I remember correctly you have to set vista to allow users access. You see a list of users for your pc but you actually have to type in 'everyone' then your networked pc s will see files on vista computer.

Took me 2.5 hrs searching net to get XP to see vista folders.
