I have managed to draw my first item in sketchup 7.1, got my dimensions on it fine but as its a 3D object when you look at it from some angles some of the other dimensions are obscuring the ones at the back and it looks a bit of a mess.

What I need to ba bale to do is rotate the item to a pleasing view then remove some of the dimensions that are cluttering it up.

I could do with somehow saving 3 different views of it with only the dimensions on that are applicable to that view but i dont know how to save it in a different orientation?

I need to also export it to PDF or be able to print some drawings off, or ideally email them - again any ideas?

I only have the free version of sketchup if it makes any difference.

to rotate, you need the button with the picture of 2 blue arrows going round each other, then click on the object and drag it around

file - export 2d image will let you save it as jpg, bmp png etc. not PDF though

saving different orientations, there is a button that will put dimentions onto the drawing itself, when you use the ruler tool. i forget how though, but then you can export as jpg

PDF ain't a problem. Get CutePDF as a virtual printer driver (it's free) and job's a good'un.
