Windows CD burning help
Jasper - 29/6/10 at 11:13 AM

Why is is when I try to use Windows 7 to burn a data disc, all it bloody well does every time is burn short cuts links to the files, not the files themselves

Drives me nuts!!

if your using the windows 7 burning proccess when you click on the blank cd it opens the box to burn items.

just drag them in from the files you want. this will copy the file to the cd temp directory ready to burn.

then click burn. make sure your burning to use in dvd drives not as usb key option as this can cause issues.

hope that helps.

if your still stuck then download nero trial or something like that.

Nope - it still just shows the folder as a shortcut, I've done it 3 times now, and each time the CD only has a shortcut link on it, not the whole file. I've tried draging and dropping onto the CD drive, copying and pasting, and using the wizard, all give the same result.

Sorry this may seem a little obvious but have you acctually written/finalised the cd not just copied the files in to the folder?

if your really stuck i can send you a link to logmein and i can have a look at it for you.

i work for sec-1 ltd which is an IT company in leeds.

i havent seen that before unless your not using a blank cd. you should see a shortcut for the desktop file which normally appears but the rest is confusing me :O)

or you can enable remote desktop connection in programs and accessories and system tools.
