OK, very off topic, but hopefully someone here may be able to offer me some help / advice.
In our office we don't have any radios, but recently I have been listening to Spotify at my PC. Just loud enough for me, not an intrusion to
anyone else. But I am getting complaints.... its not loud enough
Now we can't have it louder as it will disrupt work / phone calls etc, but we feel a nice solution would be to all have music on our local
machines at a nice low level.
There are about 8 people with PC's spread out over a largish open office.
But the problem is going to be synching it all, so we have the same songs at the same time. But also that we can each control locally, say if you have
a client at your desk you can turn it down or off.
Would rather not pay for anything and I'm sure its possible. If I was working for 'spotify' then I would write a bit of software called
'Spotify Office' where it would do what I want.
And we don't want a radio each, and rather not have internet radio. We want a central store of streaming songs we have chosen that we can each
'tap into'
Anyone any ideas?
Do you have a network server set up?
If so then just use the SHOUTcast Distributed Network Audio Server

Thanks,
Will have a look into that
