I agree with this.

Avg and Kaspersky are more likely to slow your pc down

designer - 28/8/10 at 06:30 PM

Avast as it does not slow your computer down like AVG.

balidey - 28/8/10 at 06:34 PM

I run Ubuntu. Not many viruses are written to attack it

^^ what he said

Also, the Avast free home edition updates itself, so when you go online, it updates......

AVG here. Never had any problems with it slowing my pc down.

while it is true it will run faster than avg it won't stop you getting some virus (tested personally)
avg is still the best free anti virus imo

Microsoft Security Essentials for me. Very low maintenance and doesn't slow everything down like all the others I've tried.

+1 for Avast. I started using AVG after getting annoyed with SAV's poor performance, but ended up running Malwarebytes on a regular basis because its adware / spyware protection was so poor. Had no probs since installing Avast. It seems to check all content and prevents the browser from opening anything suspect until you confirm. Bit more confidence-inspiring...

I use Panda, its free and mainly based online so does not slow down your pc.
