Ipad jailbraking?
CraigJ - 25/11/10 at 12:05 PM

Can some one explain what jailbraking is and what it does?

Thanks Craig.

Users who jailbreak can download apps that allow you to customize everything on the device from your homescreen images to your icons. You can also multitask by running apps in the background, tether your iPhone to your PC to use it as a modem, even turn your iPhone into a "MiFi" hotspot. Those are just the highlights, though.

It allows software which hasn't been approved by apple to be installed and used.
It also allows root access, so you can change or modify system files.
It seems the equivalent of "rooting" an android phone..

(all 3rd hand info, I've never used an iphone, android FTW )

Saw a guided for jailbreaking an iPhone to run andriod on it.

Appeared to work, but it was stated to be somewhat laggy and useless. I'll stick with the Nokia brick (6300)
