hi all.
its something to do with my new laptop, for some reason i cannot download attachements from hotmail emails. You click on them, the green bar goes
across, and nothing happens. Ive tried shift-click and ctrl-click, to no avail.
Im sure its a setting thing somewhere, but windows 7 is all new to me, and google has too many different problems.
Any pointers?
Cheers!
Have you tried right clicking, open in new window?
Or make a note of the name of the file and do a search for it. maybe in the downloads folder
Andi
Joel sounds very much like you have a P.E.B.K.A.C. Error in your operator systems.
It happens to most folks who use HOTMAIL but dont worry someone will be along shortly to explain the fix

bah, the very cheek
but even if it is me, im sure someone can help
I have this issue with some e-mails. because I know SFA about the Devil's Engines. (computers to you), i found that if I drag and drop it into a
new Word document, I can then open it.
Obviously not the correct 'fix', but hey, it works for me.

cant drag it it seems, also when i hover the mouse over the download button it just says 'javascript' at the bottom, so there is no url to
copy.
might try a java update.
windows 7 is a pile of crap.
Javascript has nothing to do with java other than Netscape hijacking the name for a marketing gimmick.

it wasnt me, it was hotmail! Google found loads of people with the same problem, some blaming silverlight, and hotmail having no idea how to sort it.
So i just got a gmail account to forward to - what a load of bollox modern technology is.
