After over 6 years i am going to format and reload Windows XP on the main home PC
Wish me luck, any last nuggets of advice?
(No Win 7 or Linux suggestions I can play them elsewhere)
Cheers
I have to say after recently getting a new laptop with Win7 it's blooming marvelous. Makes XP look complete shite! But good luck anyway, it's usually not too bad. But it's worth getting the service updates onto DVD and updating the XP box before going online otherwise it will get mullered before it update itself.
Good luck i have been useing windows 7 for a year now on the laptop its magic

Yeh, win 7 is good now I've got used to it (and done the win7 exam which helped!) particular like the way it indexes, eg. click start button and
then just type any word, it will then display everything on your compy that contains that word, emails, pdf's etc.
Cheers

The chance to move into the 2000s
I would have gone for the upgrade to 7 while you were at it, would have saved a lot of problems in the next 12 months
