Cheap / Free CAD software?
lsdweb - 9/2/11 at 09:35 AM

Hi All

I'm just about to draw up the diagrams for the looms for my Elan (I like a decent wiring diagram to work to and for future reference).

I have a version of Total Cad that I've used in the past but I'm now running Windows 7 and it just doesn't want to work :-(

So, can anybody recommend some cheap / free basic CAD software?

Ta

Wyn

I've used http://www.cadstd.com/ but there might be better ones out there. Did the job for me though...

draftsight is the new freebie that is bundled with Solidworks. Pretty much all the free 2D CAD packages are similar in design, layout and use.

Vote here for DeltaCad, I have AutoCad but use DeltaCad most of the time,it's very intuitive.

Another vote for draftsight......I don't actually use as I have AutoCAD, but it does seem pretty good especially if you have dwg files to read/edit..
