Hmmm,
For some reason, when I open IE6 it will no longer go to my home page. Instead it goes to one of those search type pages and in the address bar
displays about:blank. In the Internet options the box for setting the home page now has 3 buttons. Use Current, which is deactivated, use default and
use blank. Whatever is typed in as home page address is overwritten as soon as IE6 is opened and reverts to about:blank.
Tried Norton Antivirus and Ad-aware6.0 but neither got rid of it.
Can't find any indication of a path or addres for it so don't know where to go to get rid of it.
Any ideas?
I'm also getting a lot of pop ups for spyware/adware downloads. I suppose that may be connected.
probably has been caused by spyware...
from the tools menu in IE go to internet options, check your homepage settings..
HTH
Dave - u need hijackthis - which is available from our site. Go to other bits and generally look around IIRC it's at the bottom of one of the
pages.

Is your adaware up to date and set to scan registry as well as files. It sounds like you have a malware problem.
These days Homepage hijackers can be quite complex to track down.
Start by clearing out the cookies, then run adaware then hijack this ---make sure you get the real hijackthis freeware gpl not a shareware progam
with a very simlar name this link should find it

If the hijack comes back after a reboot down load "start up editor" some times called "startup" and see what is starting when
windows fires up.

After that usual advice to ditch using Micro$ software for mail and browsing --- try Mozilla
