Does that motherboard have onboard graphic? If not youll need a graphics card, or pick a different mobo that does have it onboard

id swap the wd green 5400rpm drive foe a wd black 7200rpm for more performance

looks good just change the hdd for a faster 7200rpm one as 5400 will limit you.

As above up the spec of the hard drive.

I'd swap the windows to a 64 bit version too......

I bought a copy of win 7 pro full retail off of ebay for £85 this week.... worth a look to save a few quid perhaps?

Any particular reason for the i7 processor (apart from maybe HT being enabled)? Just you've picked the X58 mobo and an i7 and then only two sticks of RAM. That combo could really use all three memory channels or you may as well pick an i5 and an LG1156 mobo.

Then what you save on the CPU you buy an 60- 80GB SSD drive to boot the OS off.

We bought an ebuyer ready built cheap system and 64 bit Windows 7 home premium for my wife. It has the on board graphics and a 500 gig drive and it is a very capable system for everyday use and surfing. They've upgraded it since then here and it looks a good buy. I was going to build her one but I couldn't buy the parts for what they were selling the system.

unless your running lots of old software I'd get the x64 windows and tripple channel memory (and a faster disc as above)

I've got the P6T Deluxe V2, its more or less the same as the SE but with 16+2 phase power ratehr than 8+2
